Looking back, the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District has grown significantly over the past twenty years. As one of the fastest growing cities in the state of Wisconsin, the city of Oak Creek’s population is steadily approaching 40K citizens. Likewise, the city of Franklin, which also sends a portion of its students to the OCFJSD, continues to grow quite rapidly as well. With this increase in population, our school district has moved into one of the top twenty-five largest in the state of Wisconsin. We, as a district, continually evaluate how we can offer a sufficient variety of quality programs for our student population. As the school board president, I am extremely proud of the youth programs that our district offers.
Our district’s executive board and school board teamed up with the city of Oak Creek to develop our youth programs. These programs include a plethora of activities ranging from athletic teams and chess clubs to open swim and a strings program. The opportunities are incredible! Our youth programs are led by Heather Ryan who does a phenomenal job in creating new and exciting programs that both challenge and inspire our students. Many of the programs promote healthy habits and lifestyles and encourage students to push their limits and expand their horizons.
Both my daughter and son have participated in our district’s youth programs, and as a parent, I can attest to the fact that these programs are extremely well organized and worth every penny! I feel so grateful to live in a community that offers such amazing opportunities for our youth!
